Busy tone… and giving credit

Posted by Eric Hansen - June 6, 2009 - News

Remember when phones didn’t have call waiting or voicemail and you got a “busy tone?” That’s how things are going for me right now. Busy, busy, busy, and I would like to thank all of my clients for allowing me to stay busy. I apologize if I’m not returning your calls fast enough. I have a few irons in the fire (including my first Mac-based cash register installation) and I will post updates soon, but before I do I would like to really thank Ted Perkins and other DIY Super 8 guys over at Vimeo. I would also like to thank Roger Evans at MovieStuff.tv. Every Super 8 telecine session is a new learning experience for me, and these guys have devoted a LOT of their free time to perfecting the small format transfer process. Part of my process is from my own trial and error, but about 50% of what I do has been perfected by someone else, and I just want to give credit where credit is due. I’ve realized through the years that this is true for a lot of smaller and sometimes obscure hobbies – Super 8, Holga photography, 3D, craft brewing, restoring classic cars, etc. Everyone who takes these things up in their spare time are always more than willing to share what they have learned, and the internet is only making it easier. So to everyone that answers one of my questions via email, phone or forum post, I thank you.
